Meet the Bachmann Orthodontists
Dr Claudia Bachmann
Dr Claudia Bachmann MDS, PhD is an NZAO certified orthodontic specialist and one of the founders of Bachmann Orthodontics.
Claudia obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Erlangen/Nuremberg in Germany. In addition, she completed her orthodontic training and received her Speciality Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science from the University of Munich, Germany.
Claudia has achieved a PhD in Medicine, and she ranked among the top of their peers in Germany. She was one of a few orthodontists in Germany, certified to train postgrad students during their orthodontics specialist training. Claudia ran a successful orthodontic clinic in Germany for twelve years before relocating to New Zealand in 2009.
Claudia ran Albany Orthodontics on Auckland’s North Shore and changed the name to Bachmann Orthodontics in 2011.
Claudia embraces all nature has to offer and enjoys hiking whenever she can. Walking both the Milford and Routeburn tracks have been highlights so far and now with the recent addition of her GSP puppy Milo to the family, they head out most weekends exploring dog friendly trails, trying to keep up with Milo!
Dr Khalid Mortaja
Dr. Khalid Mortaja holds a dental degree (BDS) from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and a Masters degree (MSc) with merit from King’s College London (KCL), where he also did his specialized orthodontic training.
He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MOrth RCS Edn) and holds intercollegiate membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (iMOrth RCS Eng & RCPSG).
With professional experience in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UK, Dr. Mortaja brings a globally informed approach to orthodontic care.
Outside of work, he enjoys the simple pleasures of life, including a nice cup of coffee, sports, video games, and family time.
Dr Carrol Jin
Dr Carrol Jin BDS (Hons), DClinDent(Ortho) is a New Zealand Qualified Orthodontist. After graduating with honours from the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme at the University of Otago, She followed her passion for orthodontics by earning a Clinical Doctoral degree in Orthodontics.
Her doctoral research was a split-mouth randomised controlled trial, investigating the effect of carbamide peroxide on biomechanical properties of vacuum-formed retainers. In addition to her deep passion for orthodontic retention, she exhibits a keen interest in biomechanics.
When she is not at work, she loves spending time with her family and delightful coffee outings with friends.
